About Solitude Publications
Solitude Publications was founded in 2005 by Jade Rumsey. Jade, editor and publisher, is an avid reader and collector of small press works, primarily in the horror genre. Solitude Publications is focused on publishing collectible limited edition hardcovers by small press greats such as Brian Keene, Tim Lebbon, Mark McLaughlin, Brian Knight and many others, with art by genre veterans like Alan M. Clark and Chad Savage.
About horror fiction, Jade says, "I have loved stories since I was born. As soon as I learned to read, you could not remove the books from my hands. This remained pretty much unchanged until I found the internet and discovered a thing called a collectible book. The signed limited edition. The small press. I then realized that I would always be in debt as there were more books I wanted than money, but also that I felt a lot of the time that I could do better. I wanted to be the one making the books. But I didn't know how. Thank you so much to Don Koish who has answered more questions than is sane and to Shane Staley for all of his help. It does not end there however, as almost all of the publishers have been more than willing to give me their time at conventions and through e-mails. This is a great industry. I had no idea that everyone would be so great. I can't wait for the future."
